Filled with sunlight and patio furniture, sunrooms are the ideal spot to unwind with a beverage and a good book. These transitional spaces connect your home with the outdoors while protecting you from the elements, allowing you to enjoy the best of indoor and outdoor living at the same time.
These photos were taken at a client's home in Modbury, where Aluminium Plus added fixed and sliding windows to an already existing pergola area, enclosing the space and turning it into a sunroom.
Each sliding window has two fixed glass panels down the bottom, allowing for light to stream through the sunroom. Airflow is also allowed into the sunroom when the sliding windows are open. The windows were made in Primrose aluminium, seamlessly matching the new windows with the original colour of the pergola. Each window is fitted with 4mm glass, and the sliding windows are fitted with fly wire screens.
The sheeting of the existing pergola was changed to opaque polycarbonate corrugated sheeting, thus allowing more sunlight to stream through.
Allowing warmth in the morning and weatherproof views of the large backyard, this new sunroom is going to be enjoyed for years to come.
